Among the mountains, in the heart of the Iberian Peninsula, lies a river that years ago had its flow regulated by a dam. The beauty of the rocky outcrops that the locals had contemplated for centuries was replaced by the beauty of the reservoir, which also brought agricultural, energy and recreational wealth to the area.

The river flow is unstable and its level rises and falls drastically based on the rainfall, alternately reflecting one of these two beauties but never both at once.

This work uses the metaphor of an x-ray (the idea of "seeing through") to simultaneously show both beauties, two different times in a single space. A Nature domesticated by humans that is a generator of wealth but still reveals itself in the shape of unstable and uncontrollable cycles that remind us of our humble place in the Universe. Once we fully grasp where we stand, it becomes easy to move forward with greater confidence.

Existe un río entre las montañas, en medio de la Península Ibérica, al que hace años se le reguló el caudal con una presa; la belleza de los berrocales que, siglo tras siglo, pudieron contemplar los lugareños fue sustituida por la belleza del embalse, el cual además aportó riqueza agrícola, energética y recreativa a la zona.

El caudal de este río es inestable y dependiendo de las precipitaciones su nivel sube y baja de manera radical, mostrando alternativamente una de las dos bellezas pero nunca las dos a la vez.

La obra aquí presentada utiliza la metáfora de una radiografía (el “ver a través de”) para mostrar simultáneamente dos bellezas, dos tiempos en un mismo espacio; una Naturaleza que el humano domestica y que es generadora de riqueza, pero que aún se revela en ciclos inestables e incontrolables situándonos en nuestro humilde lugar del Universo. Una vez comprendido dónde estamos, es fácil echar a andar con más confianza.

Mendilerroen artean, ibai bat dago Iberiar Penintsulako erdialdean eta urteak dira presa batek bere ur fluxua arautzen duena. Mendeetan zehar bertako biztanleek ingurune harritsuaren edertasunaz gozatu izan arren, urtegiak edertasun hori ordezkatu zuen, nekazaritza, energia eta aisialdirako aberastasunak ekarriz inguruari.

Ibai honen fluxua ezegonkorra da eta euriaren arabera, bere maila modu erradikalean aldatzen da, bi edertasun horietako bat erakutsiz, baina inoiz ez biak aldi berean.

Hemen aurkezten den lanak x izpien metafora erabiltzen du (“zerbaiten bidez ikustea”) aldi berean bi edertasunak agerian utziz, denbora ezberdin bi, espazio berean. Giza izaera daukan natura hau, aberastasun sortzailea izanik, oraindik ziklo ezegonkor eta kontrolik gabekoetan erakusten da, Unibertsoaren leku apal batean kokatzen gaituelarik. Non gauden ulertzen dugunean, erraza da segurtasun gehiagorekin oinez jarraitzea.
